A group of bipartisan Washington State Senators has proposed Senate Joint Resolution 8208 (SJR 8208), aiming to enshrine hunting and fishing as constitutional rights. The resolution seeks to create an "inalienable right to forage, hunt, fish, trap, and harvest wildlife and fish." To proceed, it requires approval by two-thirds of both the Senate and House and a simple majority vote in a statewide election.
