HOWL and other non-profit members of the California Hunting & Conservation Coalition are partnering with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife on a free raffle to encourage hunters to help in the fight against Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) in our state.

In May, CWD - the most dangerous disease affecting deer and elk populations in North America - was confirmed in California. To protect the health of California’s deer and elk, and our hunting traditions,

Get out and hunt! If you successfully harvest a deer:

NOTE: WE KNOW...THIS SEEMS A LITTLE LATE AS HUNTING SEASON IS OVER FOR MOST OF THE STATE. THIS IS A PILOT PROGRAM, AND IT TOOK A WHILE FOR ALL THE LEGAL RIGMAROLE. SO IF YOU'VE ALREADY SUBMITTED SAMPLES, THEN GREAT, JOIN THIS FREE RAFFLE.

IF YOU ARE STILL HUNTING, BE SURE TO SUBMIT YOUR SAMPLE AFTER YOUR HARVEST AND JOIN THIS FREE RAFFLE.  THIS RAFFLE WILL BE BACK IN 2025 BEFORE THE 2025 HUNTING SEASON STARTS!
